Mariana started Sailing at the age of Seven, in Optimist Class and was born in the Capital of Portugal, Lisbon. She was representing Portugal in the Olympic Games in London, 2012 in the Match Racing class and the title of World Champion in Korea was won by her in 2013! She also sails in large boats in several teams which helped her gain a lot of experience. After being a mother of two, she achieved the victory in the Ocean Race Europe of 2021. Currently she is a Member of the French Team Biotherm in the IMOCA Class, sailing The Ocean Race 2023! She also completed the first leg of the VO65 Sprint Cup 2023 in the Mirpuri Foundation Racing Team, a Team 100% Portuguese. For her, the opportunity to learn every day with the other team members is always an asset and the Teamwork is undoubtedly the most interesting challenge on board.
